About me

Julie Atterbury

I was a keen swimmer from the age of 6, I started teaching swimming 18 years ago, and have years of experience and qualifications that I regularly update, having 3 children and two grandchildren of my own I understand the importance of learning to swim.

The water is a beautiful place to be, but it can also be very dangerous!

I regularly attend seminars and courses to keep up to date with the swimming industry and gain new ideas and activities that I can practice in my lessons.

I feel it is one of the most rewarding jobs as you get to see your pupils progress, achieve their personal goals, and become safe and happy within the water. With 18 years of experience in teaching swimming, I have gained numerous qualifications and regularly attend seminars and courses to keep up to date with the latest practices in the industry.

Although the water is a beautiful place to be, it can also be quite dangerous. That's why I strive to provide a safe and fun learning environment for my students. Recently, I completed a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism to better serve my students and their unique needs.

Teaching swimming is one of the most fulfilling jobs I have ever had. It's incredible to see my students progress, achieve their personal goals, and become safe and confident swimmers.
